Collection: Hilma af Klint

Inredningsbild med två inramade posters av Hilma af Klints Ynglingaåldern, Nr 3 och Nr 4, upphängda i ett modernt vardagsrum.

Hilma af Klint is the Swedish hidden gem who has taken the world by storm. In her will, she wrote that her abstract works were not to be shown until 20 years after her death, because she believed that only then would people be ready to fully understand their meaning.

The exhibition at Moderna Museet in 2013 then became the starting point for af Klint's triumphs around the world. The timing was perfect. Contemporary interest in female artists, abstract art, and spirituality made the exhibition perfectly in tune with the times.

In the end, it turned out that her thoughts about her artistry were completely correct, because over a hundred years ago, Hilma af Klint was painting pictures for the future.
