Hilma af Klint (1862-1944) was a Swedish artist, esotericist and pioneer in abstract painting. Maps of Invisibility is the first book about Hilma af Klint's artistry for children. It is not only about art but also about magic, mysticism and scientific discoveries. It is also a story about a female pioneer in modern art. Interest in Hilma af Klint has grown enormously in recent years. Her work is exhibited in museums all over the world. Maps of Invisibility is richly illustrated with reproductions of Hilma af Klint's work and Karin Eklund's cartoons.
