Collection: Andy Warhol

Inredningsbild med två inramade posters av Hilma af Klints Ynglingaåldern, Nr 3 och Nr 4, upphängda i ett modernt vardagsrum.

The legendary 1968 Andy Warhol exhibition is a milestone in the history of Moderna Museet. The exhibition was his first-ever museum exhibition and caused a stir on both sides of the Atlantic. And the facade in particular attracted attention – completely covered in his now iconic Cow Wallpaper!

The exhibition included his famous Marilyn portraits and his flower series – Flowers. A series of about ten exhibition posters was also produced, featuring various quotes by Warhol taken from magazines and books, which were also used for advertising on the streets of Stockholm. Since then, Warhol has returned to the museum with exhibitions in both 2008 and 2018.
