Belgian artist Luc Tuymans (b. 1958) is one of the most respected painters of his generation. In the Against the Day suite, a series of 20 new works, the focus is on virtual realities, fantasies and illusions. Despite a highly subtle and often understated expression, Luc Tuymans often captures a traumatic mood in his paintings.
