Cecilia Edefalk often paints in series, repeating the same motif until it is difficult to tell between original and copy. During the 1980s, painting "reemerged", now resting on a postmodern foundation. The art was no longer abstract or emotionally expressive, but rather idea-based and also figurative. Many classified Edefalk in the postmodern category. The series Another Movement has been described by the artist herself
as seven paintings of different sizes, where for each new painting she went back to the original: an advertising image of a man applying suntan oil to a woman's back, taken from a women's magazine. She changed the motif to emphasize what for her was the very tension in the image. The bottle of oil is no longer there. The rigid, block-like figures stand out clearly against the intensely blue, cohesive background.
