Gilbert & George The Great Exhibition

For over five decades, Gilbert & George have created works that have challenged the conventions of art and society, without regard to what is considered "good taste". In the exhibition catalogue The Great Exhibition, we encounter Gilbert & George's own generous selection of images from their entire life's work together. Since they met at Saint Martin's School of Art in the late 1960s, Gilbert (b. 1943) and George (b. 1942) have lived in the same neighbourhood in London's East End. In the book's interview by curators Daniel Birnbaum and Hans Ulrich Obrist, they tell a clear and humorous story about their fifty fascinating years together.
