Catalogue from Gunvor Nelson's exhibition at the Modern Museet in Stockholm, 29/9 - 2/12 2007. Over the years, Gunvor Nelson has developed a highly personal way of filming where elements of collage are interspersed with suggestive landscapes created by sound and image. Gunvor Nelson's earliest films examine the media world's stereotypical images of women with both humor and a strongly critical eye. SCHMEERGUNTZ (1966) and TAKE OFF (1972) are today considered feminist classics in film history. Other themes such as generational changes, time and aging characterize films and videos such as MY NAME IS OONA (1969), RED SHIFT (1984), TIME BEING (1991) and TRUE TO LIFE (2006).
