Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd (1934-2016) is one of the most internationally well-known Swedish artists. His most famous work that stands outside the UN headquarters in New York is probably the Non-Violence revolver with the knotted barrel, which exists in several versions around Sweden and the world.
The exhibition Alias: CFR presents two sides of Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd's artistic career. The focus is partly on his extensive project Kilroy , which began in the early 1960s. The exhibition also shows the complex installation Kilroy II . In addition to the Kilroy project, the exhibition also shows late works that came about after Carl Fredrik Reuterswärd's stroke in 1989, which led to paralysis of the right side of his body and a shift in working hand from right to left. He has described the time after his stroke partly as a form of liberation, and these works seem to have a more expressive and emotional expression compared to the more conceptual work from his early career.
